An Israeli security agency warned citizens against traveling in northern India.

The alert from the National Security Council Counter-Terrorism Bureau comes after a call by the leadership of a major local terrorist organization to attack Israelis in Jammu and Kashmir.

India is a popular destination for young Israelis after they are released from army service.

The Counter-Terrorism Bureau was founded in March 1996 following a wave of terror attacks against Israelis.
